NetPosition helps you organise your household budget, tax estimate, property and wealth figures. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We collect only what the service needs. Depending on what you use, this includes:
Your financial figures are personal information and we treat them as sensitive, even though they are not “sensitive information” as defined in the Privacy Act. We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, ethnicity, religion or political views.
You do not need to identify yourself to read our public pages. You need an account to save data.
If you enter information about another person, such as a partner’s name and age, you must be entitled to share it with us and be comfortable with them knowing we hold it. Only enter what you need for your own planning.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial figures for advertising.
We use trusted service providers to run NetPosition. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. Some of them store or process data outside Australia.
Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, usually through the provider’s contractual terms.
We may also disclose information to our professional advisers, and where required or authorised by law, for example to a court, regulator or law enforcement body. If our business is sold or restructured, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honour this policy.
We use only essential cookies, which keep you signed in, and browser storage that remembers your light or dark theme. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics that track you across other websites. You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in.
We send service emails: sign-in links, password resets, receipts, and important notices about your account or these policies. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them, and any marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Data is encrypted in transit, access to it is limited to the people and providers who need it, and each account can only read its own records. No system on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
We keep your account and calculator data while your account is open. When you delete your account, that data is permanently removed from our live systems, and a subscription is cancelled. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
The one exception is the record of your agreement to the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy (your email address, the versions you agreed to, and the dates). If you delete your account we keep that record for 7 years after deletion so we can show what you accepted if a legal claim is made, and then delete it. It is not used for anything else.
Some copies persist for a limited time: encrypted backups are overwritten within [backup retention period], and security and error logs are kept for [log retention period]. Stripe and our accounting records of payments are kept for [record-keeping period, for example 7 years] because tax and corporations law require it.
Email [email]. We respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and in limited cases the law allows us to decline a request, in which case we will tell you why.

NetPosition is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Our pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.
We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date, and we will email you or tell you in the app about material changes before they take effect.
